Trumbull Town Treasurer Anthony Musto Seeks Third Term

Musto’s steady hand and sound fiscal management has helped Trumbull thrive

Trumbull, Conn. — Seeking to build on the successful results of the past four years in his post, Anthony J. Musto will run for a third term as Town Treasurer on First Selectman Vicki Tesoro’s re-election ticket this November.

Musto, who lives in town with his wife and three children, has served the Town of Trumbull in multiple positions for more than a decade, including as Town Treasurer for the last four years across two administrations. His education and experience as an accountant and attorney have helped him maximize investment returns and reduce costs for the town. Upon re-election, Musto will continue to work with First Selectman Tesoro and other town officials to ensure Trumbull’s fiscal outlook remains strong by aggressively seeking increased investment returns to keep taxes low and by working with the Pension Board to reduce unfunded liabilities.

Musto holds as B.S.B.A. in Accounting from American University and a Law Degree from Emory University. He has previously served as State Senator, on the Trumbull Town Council, and on the Land Acquisition Committee and Pension Board.

“It's been a great honor to serve our town as Treasurer these past few years, and I'm proud of my work increasing our investment returns and lowering costs,” Musto said. “I look forward to continue my work helping First Selectman Tesoro keep Trumbull fiscally strong. Vicki has restrained spending, fought for our share of state educational and grant dollars, and minimized tax increases. She's already restored a sense of stability and community to town government, and I'm certain she'll continue to apply that same steady hand to our finances.”

In addition to making smart investments to provide a strong future for the town, Musto also worked diligently to obtain grant funds to repair the Senior Center Kitchen, Hillcrest Pool and other critical projects in town.

“I have absolute confidence in Anthony’s ability to manage our Town assets for the benefit of our taxpayers,” said First Selectman Tesoro. “His results are impressive and we have all benefited from his hard work and expertise. I am excited we are running together again.”
